My First Quilt

The quilt is 60cm X 80cm, the size of a queen size bed. I gifted this to my parents for Christmas 2006.

Dude Socks

Made in Opal Chocolate Banana Split and a pattern from a Patons Pattern book. There is some cable detail on the leg part.

Sister Socks

Socks for my sisters for Christmas 2006.

Purple socks for Sister B (Patons Kroy Winter Eclipse)
The socks are fraternal. If you look closely at the rib, one sock has the knit "v"s pointing downwards the toe and the other sock has "v"s pointing to the cuff.

Green/Blue socks for Sister C (Patons Kroy Kool Stripes)
I like stripes... it kept me going because I was anxious to reach a new color and the stripes made counting rows easier. The colors more-or-less matched between the socks. *smile*

Yarn: Patons Kroy 4 ply (175m at 50g; 75% wool; 25% nylon); 2 skeins in Winter Eclipse for 1 pair; 2 skeins in Kool Stripes for 1 pair; 2.25mm
Modifications: Used smaller needles to get a snug fit and experimented with various cast-on and cast-offs. Also used 3 needle bing-off instead of grafting.

Bohemian Cushion Covers

Using large needles and in the round, the knitting was very quick. I made 2 cushion covers, each could fit a 50cm X 50cm cushion (standard Ikea "down" size cushion). To allow for easy washing, I added zippers.

While the yarn is soft and looks pretty, it kept shedding! Fortunately, it knits up quick (can't complain about that!) and is washable. I might use this again if I have more friends buying themselves condos.

Camera Bag

A friend asked for this, and I made one! It's inspired from those Ipod socks but this is made for a digital camera. Using leftover sock yarn and a buckle for closure, I improvised the design but I'm not sure about the result. I think the sizing could be improved but for the time being, my buddy gets this!

Note: I finally mastered the perfect camera bag using chunky yarn. It definitely looks more cool and fits better. My friend will have to wait a bit longer for version 2.0.Source: Own design

Rowan Big Wool Caps & Mitts

Recognize the green and beige colors? With the leftovers from Snowflake, I made Mini from Rowan Bigger Picture. With some purple, I made another version of Mini, with garter stitch on the bottom. Purple Mini will be for sister B and Striped Mini will be sister C. Had another ball of green knitted the mittens - Ash, also from Rowan Bigger Picture.

Lion Cashmere Blend Reversible Cable Scarf

It took 4 balls and while the cables are neither fancy nor intricate, these basic cables are worked on both sides so the scarf is reversible! The pattern may be found here. I made this for a special person - hope he wears it!! It's soooooooo soft I'm gonna make myself one in baby blue :)
